Meet the team DONE

We are a small family dairy farm, run by two brothers Ben and Adam Spence, along with our parents David and Susan plus Ben’s wife Sam. In 2016 following huge volatility in the milk price we decided to take the exciting (and terrifying!) decision to diversify by selling milk and cheese direct from the farm gate.

We've spent the past 2 years upgrading the farm by building a brand new cattle shed (we like our ladies to be happy!), milking parlour and cheese processing room. Most of the work has been done directly by us, with minimal help from external contractors. It's been an exhausting but exciting two years!

We now run the whole process from start to finish, from growing the grass our ladies love to eat, milking the cows every day (even Christmas Day!), looking after their health and then using our fresh creamy milk to make delicious cheese.

Grant Funding
Our venture into milk vending and cheese making was part funded by grant support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Sustainable Development Fund . This funding allowed us to put up our new cheese making facility and create The Home Farm Dairy Barn - our converted horse box with a milk vending machine inside.
