Earliest maps show a barn at Home Farm - now a converted farmhouse - dating back to the 19th century.
Home Farm was purchased by Harold and Nora Spence. The farmhouse remained in the village, with only animals living at Home Farm (around 10 dairy shorthorn cows).

1964 - 1990
Construction of farm buildings continued. The first conventional milking parlour was installed in 1982 and was used right up until the present day. Prior to this, milking was done on a milk line system.
Construction of new cattle shed, milking parlour and cheese room completed.
Harold Spence marries Nora Tiplady shortly before the purchase of Home Farm. Both come from Dales farming families.
David Spence was born.
David Spence marries Susan Spence.
Ben and Adam Spence born - soon to become the third generation to farm at Home Farm.
